Welcome to Riverside Doulas New York.  We are a small group of DONA-trained doulas with experience in hospitals in Manhattan,  Brooklyn and Queens. Our expertise includes epidurals and drug-free birth, natural birth, inductions, emergency c-sections and other types of birth.  We have seen the incredible difference doula support makes in women's and families' experiences when they have compassionate guidance during  all the intense stages of labor, from home to hospital.  Our doulas strongly believe that everyone who wants continuous labor support should have access to it, so we offer a sliding scale for families unable to pay a standard fee. Our services include:

• A free preliminary visit with any of our doulas to get acquainted and provide more information.
  
• A longer prenatal visit to discuss your preferences and choices and prepare for the birth. A follow-up visit, if necessary, is included.
• Your doula will be on call and available for questions, concerns, and information, including middle-of-the-night calls when you are not sure whether or not you're in labor!
• A backup doula is also on call at all times.
  
• Your doula will come to your home when you are in labor and will provide continuous support.
• After the baby is born, she will stay with you for an hour or two and help initiate breastfeeding, and will only leave once you are settled in and ready to rest.
•  She will come to your home for a postnatal visit a week or two after the baby is born.
